Salut, mes amis! How are you? I’m so happy that I finally found a few moments to update my blog. I can’t believe that it’s been almost a month since my last post – so much has changed since then! First and foremost, I started a new job (which I love). I am doing digital marketing, including lots and lots of social media, for a company based in Los Angeles called Million Dollar Baby. MDB owns five lines of nursery furniture ranging from the super luxurious to the practical + budget-friendly (but still very attractive). I can’t wait to invest in a few fun pieces for my new desk from Ms. Mackenzie Horan’s Design Darling boutique (this acrylic tape dispenser has my name allll over it). Second, my boyfriend and I signed on a beautiful East Hollywood apartment (think floor-to-ceiling French windows, exposed brick walls…) and will be moving to in approximately 10 days. I’m beyond excited to finally have + decorate our own place (and move far, far away from my less-than-stellar current landlord). Whenever I have a spare moment, I’ve been frantically pinning ideas for our future place... I won’t bore you with my current plans, but trust – you’ll hear about it plenty in the future. Anywho, I hope you've all been well! More to come from this busy girl later this week ;)

tennis, anyone?

How adorable are Alaina Moore + Patrick Riley, the husband-and-wife duo behind my new favorite band, Tennis? The college sweethearts released their second album, Young & Old, this past Valentine’s Day (fitting, no? :). It’s rare that I enjoy an entire album, but this one is wonderful from the first track to the last. I highly recommend it.

chloë sevigny + a wednesday soliloquy

Apartment hunting in Los Angeles is exhausting. The sole factor getting me through this process is that (hopefully) by the end, I will have a beautiful apartment to decorate. Which is where these photos of Chloë Sevigny by Terry Richardson come in. I’m not sure if my boyfriend (with whom I’ve been living with for almost a year now!) would go for pale pink walls in our new place, but he travels quite a bit and I could always paint while he’s away. (He’ll learn to love it :). But back to Chloë, I also love her mix of rose-colored walls with that great red printed couch + matching curtains. Pink and red is a terribly, terribly chic color combo. Just take a look at Miles Redd’s living room! I’ll be dreaming for the rest of the day of how to incorporate this scheme into my new place. Anywho, enough of my soliloquy. My grandfather used to bring my family doughnuts every Saturday morning along with a rhyming typewritten note. I’d love to do the same for my grandchildren someday (but first, I guess I’d need children…). In addition to being a stellar prop, typewritten notes are really quite lovely. Especially when they come from a candy-colored piece of machinery. I’m saving my pennies for one of these royal typewriters found on Etsy – a pink or red one would serve me just fine. Are you lucky enough to have a typewriter at home?

I spent yesterday afternoon at my friend Caroline’s adorable bungalow in Silver Lake. While sipping tea + flipping through the pages of Domino Quick Fixes (which was discovered at Whole Foods, of all places), we became inspired to do a photo shoot of our own! Caroline is a talented actress with amazing style, as clearly demonstrated in the above photos. Her Los Angeles bungalow is beyond darling, don’t you think? She and I are kindred spirits indeed :)

Kat and Mac McMillan of Pierrepont Hicks tout their newest product, Hicks Backseat Blanket, as “perfect for that evening bonfire on the beach, or a football game…” But when I own this scrumptious turquoise and tangerine throw, it will never leave my couch! I can totally see it gracing the pages of Domino: Quick Fixes! – can’t you? Must get my hands on one before it sells out :)

morning becomes eclectic + kelly wearstler

Call me a nerd, but one of the things I love most about Los Angeles is its wonderful national public radio affiliate, KCRW. Every day from 9am to noon PST, the station airs an awesome music program called Morning Becomes Eclectic. While in traffic last Wednesday, I happened to catch the program’s guest DJ segment featuring fashion and interior designer Kelly Wearstler (!!). For those of you living elsewhere in the country, the short feature is available for download on KCRW’s website. If you’re anything like myself, you’re sure to find it wildly entertaining :)
